Lemur Landings Re- Launch

When I said to TJ Lemur Landings at Tower Park Poole was re - launching a updated version of the fantastic indoor play area he bounced around the room saying he wanted to go.
Keeping in mind TJ is now 9 years old and very excited to be going.

When arriving we had a meet and greet with two very cheeky and fun Pirate Lemurs. Lewey and Lola characters were so much fun they had me in giggles of laughter throughout the  time we were with them.

The new Play village was so much fun although its for small children I had more fun dashing in and out a pretending to be different shop owners and the police.

Next was the climbing wall with four different sections and light up steps reaching a height of 5 metres.
There is a weight allowance minimum being 2st and maximum being 17st.
The best part about the wall is being able to race others to the top and hit the button to stop the timer.
When it's quiet you can have as many goes as you want although when it busy there is a token system working.

TJ was to big to go on the smaller child's adventure area, which looked like so much fun.
The area was raised from the ground and the children had to wear harnesses

Pizza was served as food at the re-launch and I have to say it was better then Pizza hut's. Our favorite flavor was the BBQ chicken and sweetcorn.
The pizza's had plenty of cheese and lots of flavor.

Weymouth sea life centre

Having visited the sea life centre in Weymouth over 7 years ago. I expected the place to be really run down and not as much fish as there actually were.
When going into the park there is a restaurant on the left and a few other attractions in which you can visit.Car parking is not free and costs from 80p upwards depending on how much time and how busy the sealife centre is so allow for plenty of time.

I was surprised as it was looking a little shabby but all the areas were in the process of being remodeled and new playgrounds being built within the grounds.
The route in which the booklet helps guide you through the different areas was a little dated as was the park but that didn't stop us having a fun experience throughout the 2 hours we were there.

Whilst looking around at the mixture of sea creatures its clear to see that the tanks are kept clean at all times and that the fish are cared for a great deal.

My favourite tanks are  the urchins, sea horses and the lion fish. Whether its because I used to keep these myself makes for happy memories.

There is a restaurant on site but as I wanted vegetables we ventured off in the car on a 5 minute drive which was recommend by a local.
The food at the harvester was very filling and was priced well.
The service was not the best but it was busy, and I expected the service to be a little slower then the normal. I didnt get to take any photos of the meal although I wish I had as it was lovely, but by the time it had been served up I was starving and couldn't wait any longer.

Ant world - my very own little ant - arium

Over the last week I've been looking after ants, from set up to watching these little black dots running around in their own little area is oddly relaxing.  Unlike fish tanks or small and furry's these make no noise and best of all allergy free.

The ant world ranges from £14.99 to £20, depending where its brought. I got mine through http://www.interplayuk.com/my-living-world/ant-world . On this website there is more information about the type of ants and links to an ant community ( for the ant lovers in the world).
The ants don't come with the ant world but do cost £3 to get them delivered to you. ( plus they come with a magnifying container).

It's arrived!!
Whats in the box is very basic but it actually makes the perfect size cage/ ant-arium/ holding pen? for these majestic little hymenoptera (ants). Putting the little world together was very easy also. Although having TJ sat next to me asking to put it together was quite funny. I was nice and let him put the sticker on the background.
That was fair, right?

Everything needed to create my own little world.

Once completed the ants new home should look similar to this, minus the midget in the background.
It was so easy to set up and the instructions are easy to read which made this so much fun ....... for me.

As you can see by the look on TJ's face he didn't agree.
Once I double checked that everything was put together correctly, I opened up the white padded envelope which contained my new pets. I think I'll call them 'antilla ' 1 - 35.

The transportation pod for the ants.
When looking closely at the tub I realised that there wasn't just live ants in the little glass tub there was also some eggs or larvae ( which ever you'd like to call them).

Currently I have seen them moving to larvae around the set up but not taken them into the actual tank area yet. I've had it set up for 1 week so far and the ants I guess feel most comfortable in the tube between the two area's as this is where they spend their time mostly.

The larvae's inside the tube surrounded by the protection of their soon to be fellow ants.
I have fed them on smal bits of fruit with high water content although i do think I have fed them a little to much after I've put it in to the area's. I have yet to master how to put food in the tub instead of the area they are digging in as I'm still worried about them escaping all over my desk top.

I have moved them away from the window now as the set up was getting steamy and I didn't think it was fair on the little fellows.

10 days on and my little rebellious pets have not moved out of the tube yet although I have noticed a few ants are in the tank area moving the dirt around and making a few tunnels on the surface. Hopefully this is the start of the new tunnel system where the ants will soon move to.

April's Loot crate

Aprils Loot crate came through the post today, the box was a little smaller then previous boxes that I've received.
When I opened the box as always it was stuffed to the brim with items. This month I hadn't looked up anything to do with the crate as I thought I'd have a surprise.

I unpacked the box to find 6 various movie/TV series related items inside.

  • T-shirt - Labyrinth
  • Socks - Harry Potter
  • A poster - unchartered 4
  • An ice dice
  • A drinks holder that is shaped like a tusk - Vikings

The blue ice cube maker is fairly large and fits comfortably in the hand. The instructions are on the box and I cannot wait to test it for a party of some sort may just have to use it as an excuse to throw one.
The socks unfortunately did not fit my 8 year old son properly due to him only being a size 1, the socks are for size 6 - 12's so I've managed to nab them back.
The horn has a cross body holder so the horn falls across the side. There is plenty of room on for it to be crossing over the body. and it holds the horn up right with liquid in it.

The t-shirt material is soft with a Labyrinth print ironed on. The sizing is very generous which is fantastic as I'm larger on my top half. The top also washes and dries well in the dryer.

Little passports is a hit !!

Today the long awaited surprise came through the post.
Little passports came through the post in a lovely box decorated box that says little passports, so there's no mistaking the  parcel that comes through the post.
The parcel itself came from the United States and took around 10 days for it to arrive ( a little longer in my case due to it being Christmas and new year).

When the parcel was opened there was a mini letter to me, explaining what the parcel holds and other details about little passports.

As the story goes Sam and sofia are 10 year old children and they travel on a magical scooter to different continents.

Inside the 1st parcel TJ found a suitcase, a passport, stickers, an activities booklet,a map and a luggage tag.

The luggage tag opens up yet more amazing treats online.

The map is medium sized to put up on the wall which is fantastic for those inquisitive minds.

I don't want to give to much more away as it'll ruin the fun. But it's safe to say I can't wait for next month's parcel to come.
